ANNOUNCEMENT OF WPW PRESS

Westside Pro Wrestling (WPW) began as a newsletter to promote the West Australian pro wrestling scene to the world in August 2009. The newsletter ran from August 2009 to January 2011. During the time the newsletter was active it featured interviews with WA names such as Davis Storm, Bobby Marshall, Mikey Nicholls, Shane Haste and Jarrad Slate, Interstate talent like Damian Slater and Tama Williams and International stars such as Sonjay Dutt, B-Boy, Mike Quackenbush and NWA Pro promoter David Marquez. Featured monthly contributors included Mana, the Polynesian Warrior, Toshio, The Wraith, and Mean Dean Olsen.

With the newsletter wrapping up, a website www.westsideprowrestlingwa.blogspot.com was created to continue promoting the wrestling scene. Official Rankings provided by the promotions, columns and more interviews have been featured on the site, which is currently heading towards 6,000 hits. The Facebook page started in late 2009 has over 350 likes and nearly 150,000 views with fans in 17 countries.

WPW has great working relationships with local promotions, Explosive Pro Wrestling (EPW) www.epwperth.com, Lucha Royale www.lucharoyale.com, New Horizon Pro Wrestling (NHPW) www.nhpw.com.au and the Southern Hemisphere Wrestling Alliance (SHWA) www.shwa.org.au, as well as websites including California’s Alliance Wrestling www.alliance-wrestling.com, Sydney’s Wrestle Hustle www.wrestlehustle.com and Australia’s only pro wrestling magazine, Rumble www.rumblemagazine.com.au.

November 2010 saw the creation of Australian Indy Wrestling (AIW) on Facebook covering the other states of Australia. AIW currently has nearly 350 likes and has had over 250,000 views with fans in 11 countries.

In early 2011, the first WPW Almanac was published featuring a detailed history of wrestling in Western Australia dating back to the World Wrestling Federation’s (WWF) 1985 Australian tour all the way up to EPW’s Re-Awakening 9.

Today, Westside Pro Wrestling continues to move forward and would like to announce the release of WPW Press.
